There are many moments in history and our every day lives where everything seems chaotic and out of control, but out of that chaos, there comes such beauty. Most of that beauty comes from the Arts. A painting capturing a moment in time that allows us to see the wonder in the world. A song written to inspire the writer suddenly becomes a mantra to an entire nation. A television series that inspires hope and reminds the world to laugh, love and continue. A movie that allows for an escape. A musical that unites the people in a song. A book written from a bed time story to bring a sense of wonder to children who might be frightened of world events…only. to bring it to the adults as well.

We all need an escape from time to time. A brief moment where we can forget the isolation, the fear and the chaos that the world can bring. So, I write you this story. A fictional piece derived from my absolute fandom to the series that in my childhood, brought moments of escapism from the pain of domestic violence, the isolation caused from bullying and the feeling of never truly feeling I ever belong anymore…except in these stories…where everyone was welcome…despite their differences.

My gift, I hope, to you is that, for awhile, I can bring you a space to escape. Enter a familiar world perhaps or be introduced to it for the very first time. Either way, I hope this gives you the peace reading it as it gave to me writing it.
